Instructions to Download New Firmware into EM Eye


Before you start, please make sure that you do not have any programs running that occupy serial port.

1. Run program Terminal.exe whis is attached to the e-mail (you may already have this program on your computer as well - run the one that is attached)

2. Once in the Terminal program, go to File, Open and load EMEYE.TRM file -- also attached.  It has appropriate settings for loading software into EM Eye.  The only thing you will need to verify is which COM port is available on your computer to plug in EM Eye cable.  In order to do it, please go to SETTINGS and select appropriate COM port.  If in doubt, try COM1 and if this doesn't work, try COM2. Do not alter other parameters.

3. Connect EM Eye cable between your computer and EM Eye. Turn EM Eye on.

4. Select "Transfers" in Terminal program tool bar, and then "Send Text File" command. Select the drive and directory where you saved the attached files and select 1-0-4-0.TXT file.  It will start loading.  EM Eye's screen will be off during download process.  The download should take ~3 minutes.  After the file is downloaded, EM Eye will beep and will turn on.  Before removing the battery, Please turn EM Eye off so it will save all its settings.

5. To download new table, follow the same procedure and select appropriate table file to download.

Important Note: Always turn the power on EM Eye-DL off before removing its battery to insure saving all memorized data.
